Hi - Everyone has been great here helping me out as a first time rifle owner but I have another question. I got a Remington 700 270 WSM. I wanted to practice loading so I bought 5 dummy rounds from Brownell's in 270 WSM. The gun has a hinged floor plate, not detachable magazine. Tried to load the dummies but they get stuck when I push them in the magazine. They are a little longer than actual factory ammo. If I psh them down and hold them with my finger I can close the bolt but when I open the bolt the cartridge doesn't pop up. Hope I'm explaining this correctly but I am a REAL novice. I appreciate any help!! Thanks very much!!!!

Sounds like your dummies are too long to fit in the mag.

Not much you can do about that.

Ummm- please excuse the obvious qestion- have you checked the marking of caliber on the ammo package to the markings on the barrel? .270 will be too long for a rifle in .270 Winchester SHORT Magnum.
