One of my co-workers offered to sell me a couple rifles. The first was a marlin xt17 heavy barreled bolt 17 hmr w/ a cheap scope the price quoted was $150. The second rifle was a DPMS ar15 w/ m4 barrel, fixed front sight, removable carry handle, upgraded w/ quad rail (non FF), and a grip pod. Let me know what you think.

Fine guns both (though I predict the .17 will be extinct in a generation).

Don't know what he's asking for the AR but the sum of the parts should be less than buying each gun separately. Condition will dictate
the final price, but, without knowing that I can only say the arms themselves are usually quite worth having.

He's asking $800 for the ar. The ar is in almost new condition very few wear marks probably less than 200 rounds I would imagine. I made a point to take a look at the firearms today give them a thorough inspection. The 17hmr had more wear looked much more shot but you could tell he has taken very good care of it.

I'd go $800 for both and sell the .17.

I know nothing about the .17 but the DPMS is not worth $800 new regardless what he paid.
