Love the comments. Glad this is happening. The comment about the antis being able to get away with this 15 yrs ago, but the Internet has leveled the playing field is so true. I wish harm to no one, I do hope she receives much discomfort from her reckless and negligent behavior.

Of course not. Buy we demand to not be discriminated against. What's fair for them to do to us, is fair for us to do to them :)

All that was done was what they've already done, address and phone numbers.

I actually think this will help our cause personally. I think their mistake in doing this, will bolster our cause, and lawful gun owners like us and solidify support. Not to mention, I think the first time someone is killed, and it's linked back to them publishing that this person that was robbed was targeted becuase they didn't have a gun... will cause massive financial liability to the paper.

I find two aspects of this situation very interesting. Those two aspects cover 100% of the people in the counties whose information was published.

First, the gun owners have been identified as targets for criminals who are looking to obtain guns. Any gun owner who is the victim of such a crime should immediately commence legal action against this publisher for making them a target.

Second, the non-gun owners have been identified as targets for criminals who are looking for soft targets. Any non-gun owner who is the victim of such a crime should immediately commence legal action against this publisher for making them a target.

    Just my opinion.

Followup: Here's an interesting line of reasoning among the comments!!!

"We who have been exposed by the National Enquirer of Westchester (a.k.a The Journal News) should apply en masse for FULL CARRY permits since we now can “demonstrate need”. If we are denied then a class action tort against Westchester County to demand issuance of Full Carry for all Westchester County Handgun Permit owners.
By placing a map with our personal information on the internet, the Gannett rag has given a shopping list to thugs, criminal mutts, amateur thieves, teenage wannabes and terrorists. Each and every time we leave our homes we never know what we’ll find when we return. Am I going to get accosted as I enter or leave my home? Will I find a gun to my head as I try to open my door? Will I have middle of the night visitors? What about my Aunt, whose house is identified, and whose husband died over 5 years ago and no longer owns his handgun? How do we protect her?
Boycott the JN, tell the businesses you patronize that you will no longer be reading nor buying that rag so they will be wasting their advertising dollars. It’s time for economic warfare against these “journalistic” whores.
Last but not least call all the numbers given and wish them a Merry Christmas from a 2nd Amendment supporter, who protects their right to abuse the 1st amendment."

At one time or another, many of us served to ensure the protection of those not smart enough to protect themselves...none of us wish to seem harm befall anyone, even our adversaries...

However, the fear of god and the expense of a moving and security should certainly befall this woman and other published who endangers a segment of America in order to please another segment.

The same sort of stunt happened in Raleigh NC last year, a very informative list of phone numbers and address was published and put on the internet as responses to the article. I loved how they used the papers own comments section to post the list. So wish them a Happy New Year from the 2A group.

I still say this is public endangerment. If I am endangering the public won't I be arrested? Why are these people allowed to do it with no consequences? I want the name, address, phone numbers, shopping habits, children's school info and ages of the DA who won't enforce the law in this instance. Everyone involved should feel scared just like the innocent victims of their reckless actions(gun owners in NY). You really think no harm will come to these pukes if someone on that list is murdered??? Every action has a reaction, simple physics, not to mention the law of NATURE!

Go check out the "Forget about irresponsible, is this even legal" thread...

Same topic...and I think you'll find the accountability your looking for.

Looks like there is quite a bit of pressure from various directions for the publisher to remove the map. They should do so based on the privacy rights of the affected citizens.

If they do so, we should be removing our lists of the publishers employees names for the same reason.

I'm sure it is within the power of the FTF site admin to edit out the lists of names, perhaps replacing the list with "<<list of names was deleted for privacy>>". The thread itself should probably remain in place as a reminder of what kind of stuff can happen.

    Just my opinion.

I've noticed that the only people in this argument who wish I'll on anyone are those against gun rights.
