I have a lot of win large rifle primers, as I use them less. Can I use them in pistols? perhaps only with magnum loads 10 percent under max loads.

Large rifle primers are a bit taller than large pistol, so the answer would be no because the primers would not seat properly (high primers).

You can use them for certain cartridges- 454 Casull and 500 Smith mag use large rifle primers

To my recollection, 454 uses small rifle primers, though I believe there was some brass made for large primers but I never saw any. I cannot speak for 500 Smith & Wesson mag...unless I wanted to go look it up, but I don’t.

You’re right- 454 uses small rifle. 500 Smith uses large rifle

If'n you don't need them LR primers that much...I know someone who does!
