There are at least 50 Swarovski scopes for sale right now on the SWFA Sample List. Anyone know why that would be?

SWFA (and other optics companies) buy the scopes that the manufacturers use for their displays at trade show and such. They have demos that are sent out for evaluation to writers, too. Some of the items that are returned from end users, warranty returns, etc. Some are new items that may have an upgraded version out now, or coming out soon.

The makers don't like to leave product out on display too long as it gets scratched and dinged up. They want clients seeing stuff that looks new. So every show or two the stuff gets sold off, cheap.

I have bought up entire display booths of merchandise on the last day of SHOT and the stuff is a fraction of the wholesale cost. But you gotta pay cash, and take it all with you, essentially. It can be a logistical nightmare, but very lucrative.

I am always happy to buy something that already has a scratch. Saves me the agony of putting the first one on it.

Makes sense, but the most Swarovski I've seen at one time on the Sample List was probably 15 or 20.

Lon,Swarovski has come out with 3 new series of scopes for 2010. The Z3,Z5,and Z6. The Pro Hunter and American Hunter are the previous series they made, but are discontinued now.

The Z6,replaced the Pro Hunter and both have a 30mm tube.
The Z3 replaced the American and both have a 1" tube.
The Z5 is between the others and has a 1" tube.
The numbers represent the magnification-3x,5x,and 6x zoom per series.
