Already five confirmed deaths in NYC. Last I head on CNN there was three feet of flooding on the floor of the NYSE. People on the tri-state area are just not well enough prepared for these type of hurricanes as those in the south.
We all should keep these fellow Americans in our prayers throughout the night and the next few weeks.

Now they will have another problem. Alll that water is going to force the rats out.

    RATS!

Manhattan in darkness, 14ft flooding and infrastructure grinds to a halt... and now come the rats

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...s-14ft-flooding--come-rats.html#ixzz2AogTMsJ6

Rats scurrying to escape rising floodwaters in New York could spread diseases as they infest new areas, according to a nature expert.

A 13ft wall of water caused by the storm surge and high tides have caused severe flooding to subways and road tunnels in the city and torrents of water poured into city streets.

The rising water will force rats out of their underground lairs and into contact with humans, according to Rick Ostfeld of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Milbrook, New York, speaking to The Huffington Post.

He says rats are expert survivors and will escape the floods and head for safer ground, such as apartments and other buildings inhabited by humans.

He said: 'Rats are incredibly good swimmers and they can climb.'

According to Ostfeld, this could result a rise in infectious diseases carried by urban rats, including leptospirosis, hantavirus, typhus, salmonella, and even the plague.

'One of things we know can exacerbate disease is massive dispersal,' he added.

'Rats are highly social individuals and live in a fairly stable social structure. If this storm disturbs that, rats could start infesting areas they never did before.'

Rats don't need to bite a human to transmit the diseases as rodent faeces and urine can spread conditions like hantavirus.

All that storm water had to have flooded the sewers. Humans spread sickness also.

While NYC get's much of the attention, we need to remember that this wide spread storm has affected many lives.

The terrible death and injury affects many, yet far more will be affected by a loss of income to feed their families, make their mortgage payment or worse.

I pray that the area get's back on it's feet as soon as possible, so that the normal man and woman can resume some normalcy to life.

For those that lost love ones, I pray God's comfort for them.

Tell him that you showed this to a local TV news, and they want to do an interview with him.

Those rats carry flees and lice. These can spread plague through bites. And those rats are big.

    NYC is down

NYC is down, not out, but definitely down. Power’s out. Transportation’s out. Land lines down. Neighborhoods have burned to the ground (in the middle of a flood & during rainstorm!). My cousins report via email the family is all okay, but their homes in Howard Beach, not so much. Eight feet of water.

Yet the New York Stock Exchange is set to open today! What does that say?
