I'm trying to develop some loads for my Rossi 92 rifle that is chambered in 45 colt with Alliant Power Pistol powder.
I'm pushing a 250 grain rnfp hardcast boolit.
There are some references to this powder as being excellent for 45 colt but there is little data.
The data there is ; is for basically low end loads ; where I am looking for safe loads in a rifle that can handle +p loads.
So if anyone has any loads they can share ; much appreciated
    Thank-you

I've been shooting 45 Colt for a few decades in a Ruger blackhawk and a Winchester model 94 trapper. I've found the most accurate powder is SR 7625. Lyman lists 9.7 grains under a 255 cast swc as max. This load is for strong actions like Contender and Ruger Never had any bad signs in the Winchester. I chronied this load from the 5.5 inch Ruger at 950 and 1050 from the Winchester.

I was in contact with Ben at Alliant but was given the same reloading data as their website.
Hopefully there is more loads out there.
