Lets see that custom remmie!
(if it didn't sink to the bottom of a lake with twenty of its best friends along with ammo)
i bought my dad a new remmy for christmas, once we open it ill get some good pictures.
not really all that "custom", but here's my remington model 700 in .30-06:
Here is one in 300 Win Mag that as shown in the picture weighs 11.9 lbs.
The bolt and receiver bodies were first cryoed, then blue printed, and the bolt is sleeved and the firing pin hole bushed. An oversized aftermarket lug, and custom firing pin assembly were also used as was a Jewell trigger. A Farrell aluminum Picatinny rail and V-Tac aluminum rings hold the NightForce 12-42x56 scope.
The barrel is a Broughton 5C ® rifled 1/11" twist with a carbon fiber composite wrapping from Advanced Barrel Systems, and a Badger Ordnance FTE muzzle brake.
The stock is an AICS.
Remington Custom Shop 700 AWR in .300 Win Mag With Leupold VX-III 4.5-14
My latest project coyote rig. .223 700 with a factory varmint barrel bedded into an HS stock with a Nikon Monarch Titanium scope and a Versa-Pod.
This is mine. Remington 700 XCR .308 with Leupold Mk4 4.5-14x50mm LR/T M1.
Hold on.... got this stuff on my pants... wont come... off. SO.... VP uh. So do FTF members get the hook up???
Was thinking about that leu for my 700. Your boomsticks definitely have some milkshake. Very nice.
Started as an SPS
Some GAP work, some mine
I feel so left out sense I don't have a remington
Me Either, But I'm good with that. Mine are better!!
Look around mine is posted all over the place.
Gotta ask, how much total investment?
well post it up big boy!
Thanks! I'm having another one built as we speak and should be done in January. It's a long range shooter in .308 fully customized to my specs. I like 700s.
DO TELL! haha
So how much does that pretty bolt help your shot, or is it just for looks? Cuz it looks damn good.
Thanks! The AWR is solid a .5MOA gun with factory premium 180gr ammo. Not bad for a .300 Win Mag that weights in at 7 lbs. The .223 is untested, I just put it together. If it doesn't shoot .5 MOA or better after barrel break-in it is going to the same gentleman that is building the new one for fine tuning.
I'll post a pic of the new one when I go pick it up. The base gun is a Remington Custom shop 40X that shot like this BEFORE the rebuild.
I have very high expectations of the end result.
This started life as an SPS. It is chambered in 7mm Rem Mag.
Lothar Walther barrel, custom Briely mussel break, Timiney comp trigger set at 3 lbs. Bell and Carlson stock, Badger O +15 MOA picatiney scope rail, Harris bi-pod, action and bolt trued and bluprinted by Briely, and all metal was teflon finished. I am pretty much done with the break in, but I have not had the chance to do any serious trials with it yet.
The Project. Still has a ways to go.
