Here's a better picture. This was 1955 off a coast "a little west of Japan." My ship was a submarine rescue vessel which had the equipment and ability to do recovery. I don't remember the water being that deep. Obviously something beyond the comfort zone of SCUBA divers. I remember the pilot ejected and was rescued.
The crew wasn't privy to any details. They set it on the fantail and hauled it back to Yokosuka Naval Base.

The Bo'sun Mate Divers aboard that ship were a unique bunch! It seemed what they liked to do when they weren't diving was bar-fight. When we visited Hong-Kong their favorite recreation was to find a bar the English sailors claimed as their own, have some drinks, then stand up and loudly proclaim: F*** the Queen!"
Then let the fun begin!:D

That plane used the Wright R-3350 engine, the same that powered the B-29 Superfortress and the Superconstellation! What a beast! 18 cylinders, up to 3700hp!
Imagine the tourque you'd have to fight having only 1 3700hp engine. I imagine the pilots right legs were huge.:D

My Colt .380 Govt. & full kit
    IMG_20200216_110643.jpg
    I think it's a '95 production if I remember correctly.
It's got everything. Original plastic box, manual, spare trip set, blue bag, union made card, service book, g orange hang tag, warranty reg. card, Colt info leaflet, 3 ss mags (one is range bag), and some kind of black plastic clip/strap, and the plastic bag w/"read safety manual first" in orange stamped on to hold all the papers.
It even has the original retail price tag in there but that's a secret. ;)

I believe there's less than 200 rds through her, maybe less than 100. I bought it from the original owner and I don't think he ever fired it more than a couple of times. It's possible I've put more than 100 through her but not many more.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find such a complete kit after 25 years.

You are completely set up now. Pick the right places to hunt and I will guess you see many more large bucks Particularly if like in Iowa we can hunt all of October and November. Before the Gun season even opens. I have many large racks I took with a bow for nearly 50 years. Just quit bow hunting about 6 years ago. Balance is off for an old guy up in a tree stand.

I just got these two pics tonight. My oldest son has a house on 40 acres of timber and creek bottom. He was running his dogs today over on his neighbors place. Which we cannot gun hunt on any longer. For miles around all the farms are leased to out-of-state hunters. And he found this!!!!

    20200216_180126.jpg 20200216_180148.jpg
It was plain for him to see it was shot with a slug gun. 12 gauge size. A big bunch of Doctors and Dentists lease that farm and 4 others adjacent to it. So called Trophy Hunters. But we have seen in the past other bucks like this one just left where they fell.
    Same farm.
Locals there in that county and others nearby cannot find places to hunt any longer like they used to. They pay thousands of dollars a year for a lease on each farm. Cash only it seems. So, it never gets reported as income by the land owners. One we know admits that.

In Iowa, it gets worse every year. DNR does and has not listened for many a year about the Non-Resident hunters. Why???

Because in Iowa our DNR gets NO taxpayer funds at all. Their biggest sources of operating money comes from Hunting Licenses and Fishing Licenses. Then come the State Park Fees. That's it. Sad, sad state of affairs here.

I'd think that is a pretty common law/rule for no guns at a bar....not that I agree with it, but if there was one place that not having a gun, it'd probably be a bar. That is why I rarely frequent bars.

However, at least in OK it is illegal to be in a designated bar section with a firearm. You can be in the restaurant part, but not the bar part, drinking or not. Technically, even walking through the bar section to get to another area, like going to the restroom, you are supposed to walk outside the bar section of the restaurant.

Here bar carry is legal, so long as you are not consuming, or intoxicated. As my wife and I pretty much don't drink, we carry the few times we actually go to bars. Mainly, the reason we are there is I'm sitting in with the band, or running lights or sound for them.

As I am not the only carrier in these bands, most of the time, they generally refuse gifs at bars that have GFZ signs on their doors. On nights they play such places, because of the crowd that normally shows up, we don't go.

I don't know what's going on with posting pictures on this forum, but something changed. Last night I couldn't post pictures at all, now when I post them I can't view them afterwards. Anyone else having issues?
