So I just seen a scientist on a documentary say that they have discovered the polar ice caps on mars are melting. Kinda got me wondering how long its gonna be before the EPA decides to move to mars to start regulating martian industries and filtering their farts of harmful gases to save their planet from global warming too. I mean, if their polar ice caps are melting like ours then them little green dudes have to be screwing up too.

I always knew it was the normal cycling of the planet, not the emissions...

Evolution. No matter how much we'd like to think of ourselves as the Center of the universe, everything living goes thru it.

Apparently it has something to do with what some scientist think is gonna happen on the 21st of this month.

No these are the idiots reading to much in to a bunch of rock carvings from a civilization that wasn't even smart enough to survive whatever wiped them out. I think there are gonna be quite a few confused people on the 22nd when they wake up and realize nothing happened.

We cannot withstand all that nature can throw at us either......we're lucky thus far. Humans are more fragile than people realize.

This is true, but I don't think this Mayan prediction will amount to anything. And if it does, humans may be fragile, but the human race is not. It won't be the end of our kind. We're like cockroaches, and twinkies.

How could any educated civilized human believe the Mayan calender could predict any thing? The Mayans crashed 500 years ago because they did not know a horse from a god.

It's because the Martians and their greenhouse gasses (oh...excuse me ) Barry will get a group together to tackle this problem. I see a Mars Czar in the future.

That's another argument that's been debunked. They did account for the 1/4 day extra accumulated every year.

I still just don't believe anything will happen though. Same as Y2K. I only heard of one problem. A display screen on a friend's brand new DVD player died at the stroke of midnight that year. What a tragedy.

That's part of the problem with keeping both eyes toward the future, you forget to leave one on the present. This is why the civilization fell. So consumed with advance they were ignorant to the current... sound familiar?

Really our current state reminds me more of the state of Rome before it's downfall. Which is very similar to what you just described.

You think it so dissimilar to that of the Myan? Hell with broad enough a stroke all can be encapsulated within this. We all strive for a greatness, that's what sinks us. I think we're more capable of floating, but happenstance and hindsight...
