Cleaning out the family shack, we found this old gun that must have belonged to my grandpa. It looks to be a .25, but most of the identifying info on the side has worn off, any ideas what the heck it is? Thanks in advance.

Well--it's pretty rough, but if I had to GUESS a bit I would
say it's a late (third?) model Browning 1906 Vest Pocket
pistol. Could be a spanish knock-off. REALLY hard to tell
as worn as it is. You didn't ask about value, but the answer
    is "not much".

Agree with him up there ^^^. The double safety notch is characteristic of the 3rd variant.

Cool, thanks guy. I wasn't so much concerned how much it was worth, just curious what the heck it was in the first place. The stamp of "patent depose" and the grip safety should have given me a clue it was Browning or knock off of some sort.
