If the assault weapons ban is reinstated as it was before would those who already have them be able to keep them? I'm at a loss about what to do. I travel full time in an RV so I have no place to hide guns that they wouldn't know how to find. I'm tempted to just sell my SKS and by a lever action 30-30 or 308. The whole situation makes me nuts.

I would say that they would be "grandfathered" in. Meaning no they can't take them. On the other hand under Obama and the dumbocrats who knows. If they would try and take them that would be another revolution cause 99% of us would fight to keep them. I may be wrong but that is my take on it.

They are not planning on banning any of those guns. Keep them. Plus, when they say ban, they do not mean confiscation. They just want to make it where you cannot buy, or transfer certain guns.
The main guns they are trying to ban are so called "assault weapons" (an incorrect term since none of these guns are select fire). They include guns like the AR-15, civilian version of the AK-47, and possibly the FAL and Ruger Mini 14 and 30.
Once you own these guns, they are yours. If they ever do try to actually confiscate them, be prepared to live through a Civil War.

Why get rid of them? We should all fight back, even if it takes our own lives. Idk about you but I don't want to live in a communist America I rather die first, but if I am to die you better rest assured I won't be dying alone.

I agree Texaswood. I think the army, navy etc of the USA would not even try to take guns from legal owners. But starting to hear talks of confiscation so who really knows until the bans come up. I would hate it to go down that way but would rather fight then be like most of the sheeple in this once great country.

I'm with you. 110%. I refuse to live in a communist America. Which is where we are headed.

Ask the people in New Orleans if they got there guns back after Martial Law was instilled during the aftermath of Katrina.

Well that's why I will fight and would rather die with pride. 2nd amendment is what this is all about. And yes I have some semi autos but I don't have grenades and missiles like the government so I would probably lose but I will give it everything I got to stand up for what I believe in.

I am sure it is not far behind here in Illinois. Scary. But you have to do what you have to do to protect your family, friends and freedoms. Hate to think of the bloodbath it would be but it is what it is.

Please, PLEASE stop freaking out! We have absolutely NO idea what kind of gun legislation will come from this. Total, Australian ban? 500% ammo tax? Stop getting your blood pressure up over the unknown. We can guess all day long, but writing your elected officials will have more results than fretting.
