This college student defended himself with a fiberglass tent pole. Pizza hut says he violated their weapons policy. I say good for him beating five thug wannabes.

Time to move on! He was looking for a job when he found that one! Darned if i would want to work for a place like that!!! JMHO!!
thats so bad. time he should find other work, and not eat there ever again
I hate Pizza Hut's pizza anyway, but I definitely won't eat there now. If that kid had been robbed and lost all his tip money and the pizzas, they wouldn't have reimbursed him, would have taken the cost of the pizzas out of his paycheck and fired him for incompetence when the people expecting the pizza called to complain their dinner was late.

Screw Pizza Hut. Eating their pizza is more like eating a soggy circle of lumpy, chewy grease than eating a pizza. Never again.
He was defending himself...well done.
Pizza Hut fires him...poorly done.
I've not had anything from pizza hut in years...yuck...so they don't get my money anyway. Screw Pizza Hut.
Pizza hut has played this game for years. If someone has the time to hone their Google-fu, it was about ten years ago a pizza hut driver was repeatedly mugged. So he got his carry licence and they wouldnt let him carry while delivering for them. The only time I've eaten there since is when my kid got a free pizza from there because of her grades.
Add Pizza Hut to Auto Zone as places I do not want to work part time after I retire. Well done to the young man.

I don't understand some of these places. My wife was an Asst. Manager at a Ross Dress for Less. That chain refused to prosecute shoplifters. Plus they had a no weapons policy, and her store was right next to the ghetto.
It is cheaper for the store to claim it on their insurance than it is for them to prosecute the offender. Most stores have this policy, depending on where they are located.

So, anyone can walk into a Ross store and shoplift and get away with it?

Dammit, Hossfly. Now I've got to search for my eye bleach to wipe out that mental picture!!!:mad::mad:
This is absolutely atrocious, I use Pizza Hut exclusively up until this point and I'm waiting on a call back to explain why.

You know, PrimePorkChop spearheaded an effort to make Bass Pro Shops change their policy in Gurnee, IL. After several months and a large number of folks telling BPS that we would no longer shop there, they changed their policy. I had a chance to visit that BPS store a few weeks ago and found that they had in fact changed their policy.

We could do the same with Pizza Hut. Start calling their number, posting on their website, using the Contact Us avenue to tell them electronically.

"To Pizza Hut Management,

I read about your reprimand for the delivery boy who defended himself against 5 attackers recently. I can't imagine what would possess you to punish someone for (a) defending himself, (b) preserving your customers pizzas, and (c) making the neighborhood a little safer place.

Since you see fit to punish him, I see fit to punish you. I will not eat at Pizza Hut again. I will use word of mouth advertising to spread awareness of your incomprehensible decision. I will encourage my friends and coworkers to avoid Pizza Hut. There are a lot of other pizza suppliers to choose from. I intend to buy at least one pizza from each of them in the near future. All of those pizzas might have come from Pizza Hut were it not for your actions.

With all possible lack of regards,

Talked to them, they knew immediately what I was talking about, the guy said they've been receiving "many" calls about it, I suggest you all call if you care enough to, it's a painless process.
That is ****ing revolting. I am glad I don't eat that crap anymore.

Pizza Hut has demoted and cut pay of a college student for defending himself. Pizza Hut claims he violated the companies "no weapons" policy.

Pizza Hut apparently has a history of this. About ten years ago a Pizza Hut delivery man was repeatedly robbed. When he got his concealed carry permit, Pizza Hut refused to let him carry.

I am calling for a boycott of all Pizza Hut franchises until this student is given his original position and full pay back, and the company's "no weapons" policy is changed.

I wouldn't want one of my employees carrying.
How about a link to Pizza Huts Corporate email some can all let them know what we think?
