Greetings! Was just cleaning my Mossberg which is only about 5 years old and has maybe 2000 rounds through it , most of which are trap loads and maybe 200 slugs. Towards the chamber I noticed the build up in the attached image . Thoughts? [IMG]

Seriously- looks like just a dirty bore. Possibly some plastic fouling from the shot cups. Wet it down with a good powder solvent, let set for 10 minutes, brush, mop, and see how it looks. It is rare to get pitting with non-corrosive primers and smokeless powder.

    Damn Son! Clean that pig.

As C3 posted, it's just in need of a serious cleaning.
