The pistol side of the state operated range ( James E. Moore Jr. Camp Robinson Firing Range on hwy. 286) is closed for 3 months. I was there yesterday (april 1st) to shoot on the rifle range & I heard the rangemaster tell some people coming in with their handguns that it was closed... the reason being that someone complained that a bullet ricocheted & broke his windshield. The rangemaster said that it would be 3 months before the state would come in & Investigate the event. ( sounds like the government )
Anyway, the rifle, trap & skeet shooting is opened.

You could always come up here to Jonesboro to visit me and we could go shooting at the only other AGFC range in the state.:)

Ya might want to look at the dates on this thread, as it was originally started back in April of this year. The pistol portion of the Mayflower range was indeed close for a while - right about four months, IIRC, as I don't think it re-opened until sometime in August.

true. the bullet issue was investigated, no fault was determined, range opens, tornado hit, wiped out range, reopened in aug. closed again when they increased shooting line capacity, had another bullet issue, closed again, determined a no fault, stayed closed as they rebuilt the new line, opened, had another issue, opened one week later........if they had just left it all alone, it would have been fine. the range was ok, its the poorly skilled shooters trying to blame and sue g&f for some pocket cash.

hey....just a note to you guys, ftf admin gave me the ok to offer a 1st annual meet up at my place. youre not too far. bring some shotguns and join us in march! we got 14 maybes so far.

Well that sounds pretty neat. I haven't shot my shotgun in ages. Used to duck hunt, but towards the end of my duck hunting, I was spending too much money and we weren't getting hardly any ducks.
