I sorted out some of my AR parts today and came up with this. CAV lower with a leftover Dissipator type SS barrel, DPMS carbon forend and a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9.

This should fill the niche that I created for a lighweight, fast handling coyote calling gun. Probably need one like I need a hole in the head but I love the AR platform and got bored with regular M forgeries and the like.

Weighs in at just over 5 pounds unloaded and so far my groups are about an inch and an eigth at 100. Hopefully I can tighten those up off a bench.

I don't like the pin holes in the barrel left by removal of the sight tower. Any thoughts on filling them? I thought about reinserting the pins and just filing/ sanding them flush with the barrel.

Speed Holes!
:D:D:D
Perfect solution. The 1/8 gram of weight removed from that particular set of holes places the balance point of the rifle PRECISELY where it needs to be for best handling attributes, accuracy and speed.

Can't believe that no one has heard of this before

Just tell folks it's a new, experimental muzzle break to reduce recoil flip.... :D

That's a good looking gun with just some thrown together parts. Well done Jeep...
