Hey guys, I'm sure scope questions are plentiful for AR15's, but I am looking for a scope/laser combo and am looking at a few options. I would REALLY appreciate some insight on what would be best.

Here is my first pick, which I happen to really like and showing pretty good reviews, though the price makes me wonder how long it will hold up.

Another one I'm kinda considering, though I do prefer the first one. I think they have a version without the light which I don't really need. Only thing is I've heard very poor things about Barska.

    Just another consideration

Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Any opinions highly appreciated!

What is the intended purpose of the AR?

    CQB/3 gun/varmint/hunting/long range etc.???

Why the desire for scope/laser combo? Are you
talking a scope/laser in one unit, or separate
    scope and laser?

    And the big question----------------

How much money do you want to spend?

I should have specified, I am looking to set it up for medium to close range, which is why I want the combo. As of right now shooting for sport, no intent to hunt and maybe some HD if necessary. And money would like to keep within a decent price range, as in nothing above $300 preferably.

*edit* I would also prefer something that is adjustable, though this is not a huge factor.

I would suggest a Nikon Prostaf or Buckmaster 3-9x40. Either of these Nikon scopes are fairly inexpensive and work well for close to mid range yet if you decide hunt a little longer range they will be good for 400 to 500 yards depending upon you eyesight. This is however only my opinion ion as most of my rifles including one of my AR-15's have Nikon scopes.

Close to medium range? Try to find a 1x-4x that's a TRUE 1x on the bottom end. Several out there in your price range.
I've got one AR set up with a Millett DMS, and a "truck gun" lightweight AR with a Weaver V1-3 on it.

There is a BIG thread here on low power optics---worth a look: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/421244_.html

Close to medium range with some HD as a possibility.

Forget the laser. Get a good red dot and consider a light for HD.

If shooting out to 300-400 yds, a good 1-4x is a fine selection for magnified optics, as was already suggested.

Avoid gimmicky cheap optics that combine a lot of crap at " bargain" prices. You'll find most wont hold up.
