Just got back from the gun store looking at revolvers. I was looking at a S&W 642 Airweight, an LCR, and a Ruger SP101 357. I liked all three and am having a little difficulty making up my mind. This will be a lighter carry when either I can't or don't want to carry my Kimber.

Anybody have any feedback. I can get either of the three for about the same price.

Ruger every time. I believe Cane carries his LCR with a Clipdraw (Correct me if I'm wrong), and with a setup like that, there's pretty much no reason not to carry. If it's light you want, you won't beat it.

If you do decide on the SP101, I've heard awful things about the factory grips. Maybe look into some Pachmayr Compacs.

I just got a Taurus 85 and a new Hogue grip for it. I like it a lot. Kinda hard to go wrong with a revolver

Some like the factory grips on the SP101 and some dont. Personally I do like them because the fit my hand well. How ever I will be changing them for some crimson trace laser grips before long.
I prefer the SP101 over the LCR. A buddy just got the LCR and likes everything except the felt recoil from it. I load my 38's pretty hot and thats what we were shooting. But on the other hand, it is a much lighter gun to carry.
Both are great guns, just depends on what your looking for.
Hope this gives you something to work with

I got a S&W 2" J-Frame. I like it a lot, but I can't compare it to a SP101 or a Ruger. It's lightweight, and has a ported barrel for recoil, so it's not to bad to shoot or carry...

I came very close to buying an LCR while looking for a pocket revolver. At the time, my local store also had this classic pre-lock S&W 37 Airweight for $150 less ($265 OTD) so it went home with me. It won't handle +p ammo but otherwise it's a great pocket gun. IMHO .357 in a pocket size revolver is a waste as they are brutal to shoot and heavier/larger than a .38...

my vote is for the LCR. ive had mine about two weeks and love it the recoil is not bad in my opinion. i shoot a little left with mine but thats me and i am shooting from 15ft. and staying on paper 10inch peel and stick target, anyway i think it is a great little gun.

Just put a LCR on layaway today. Will pick it up when my refund check comes in. They had them for sale for $379.

Hey Cane, where did you order your clip for the LCR from?

Clipdraw #RV-B (Black) Fits any revolver (includes 6 adhesive strips)

Needs some trimming to get it to a canebrake fit!

    Clean everything!

Trim the 3M double sided tape.

    Then trim the mounting bar.

Oh yea, as you can see, lint is a high maintenance item! This is truly a pocket pistol!
