Just got it yesterday and shot 150 rounds through it. What a sweet gun, it shoots as nice as my SR9. Kick is much less then my 1911 and I will be interested to see if it eats all the discount ammo like the SR9 does.
Right out of the box it was shooting really low and when I checked the rear sight I found it was cranked all the way down, after playing with it a little I was able to bring it on center.
The SR22 and SR9 are my favorite to shoot. I have a feeling that after I shoot the 45 more it is going to be right up there with the other 2 SRs.
Now that I have my semi autos, I need to work on the Ruger revolvers. Top of the list is the SP101 357 mag 3". Hoping I get lucky like I did with the 45 and find one.

Nice. I have the SP101 357 3". When you shoot that gun at the range & shoot it well, you will gain a few observers. In addition to the SP101, I have the SR22, LC9, Mini 14, and the 10/22 takedown. I've been thinking about that .45.

I looked at the SR 45 today. It surprised me as I have been looking at a Sig P220 and an HK usp 45. For half the money, it did not seem to lack that much from the other pistols. any thoughts?

i saw an add for it and went wow... talk about running the line a a popular model. haha..

i thought it might kick more than a 1911 because of the poly frame vs the steel frame. but good to hear it doesnt.. i bet my friend will buy one sometime down the road.

No complaints about mine, shoots really nice and takes all makes of ammo I have tried so far. The SRs are also very easy to break down for cleaning and as you mentioned the price was right.

    Exactly.
I have recently started reloading and I just about have the right mix where I am becoming very accurate. It has taken pretty much anything I have been giving it. Really like this gun and the SR9.

Still looking for one at a"reasonable" price. Have had one on special order through the range/gunstore where I am a member but they havent had any luck either. Just going to have to wait. I am sure you will enjoy the SR45, still happy with mine. I began reloading and it has taken anything I have put in it.

It is so hard to say what is "reasonable" these days. My best guess would be mid to high 400s new (best guess). Used would depend on the condition. I found mine on Gunbroker.com and the timing must have been just right and got it for less than any local stores were asking. Just have to watch the shipping charges and keep in mind it is an auction.

I have no problem with used!! Provided the gun has not been neglected!! With modern ammo!! My guess is the casual gun owner can not wear a quality firearm out!! Read an article on the durability of the LCP 380!! 40,000 rounds was shot before mechanics started to fail!! Average gun owner probably doesn't approach 1000 rounds a year out of a given firearm. So the math suggest a gun should approach 50 years of normal use before real issues become a problem!! Subtract a 100 dollars off the new price for a good quality used gun!! Good news is, the gun should hold the used value for many years to come!!

So we will call 480 the "new price point!! I will hold out until I see 380 or below for the same gun , used, that has a huge chance to be as reliable as brand new!! In fact some would say buying slightly used is better than new for bugs that a brand new gun can have!!

I am interested in one, but would like to shoot it before I buy it. I will continue to monitor it until someone I know buys it, or a store has it on the wall for a rental.
