yup, you read it right - an AR-10-based semi-auto for a new improved .45-70-style rimless cartridge with almost twice the KA of the original...

I want one of these soooooooooooooo much my teeth itch.

The .45-70 is a very potent round! Good for them!

I might have to buy one of those. That looked rather fun to shoot.

This one, with the lighter bullet, has over 4000 ft lbs of ME - almost DOUBLE that of the .45-70 Gubmint cartridge!!!

I know nothing about this round. How does it compare to 50 BMG?

I shoot the 45-70 gubmint out of but "one big pistol". This big AR chambered in a slightly modified round would be on my bucket list.
Very interesting for heap big powerful " Hog Medicine".

At its very best, around 1/3 the m/e of the .50cal BMG.

The OP said 2x the KA of the original. In a Ruger #1 or 3 the old 45-70 can be loaded to within 200 fps of a 458 Win mag with the same bullet weights. I would like to see the ballistics.
