I believe it was San Fransicko that banned styrofoam cups at public venues because Dihydrogen Monoxide was used in the manufacture of said cups.

Every year hundreds of people in the US die from inhaling Dihydrogen Monoxide. It has gotten so wide spread that nearly every fish is exposed to it, even food fish like Tuna and Mahi-Mahi. You cannot find a filet at the seafood store that was not exposed to it.

I frequently reread our CT assault weapons ban (yes we have a ban separate from the Fed ban--thanks antis) and the subject is always coming up about the "parts" of the gun. 3 big items are a bayonet lug, a barrel shroud and a pistol grip.

(in case you are wondering--it physcially hurts me to read the text, but I am SO perplexed over the idiocy of it, that I have to keep reading--kind of like gawking at accident scenes  )

The anti legislators freak when you discuss these parts: OH NO---AAAAAAAHHHHH It has a BARREL SHROUD!! HELP US!!!

99% of the time when ask an anti legislator what a barrel shroud is--you get hems and haws. mmm, I thought so.

And this is the same exact thing: oh NO I have no clue what that is...but since it sounds so awful it must be banned.....

Has a bayonet ever been used in a drive by, mall shooting, etc?

Has anyone who has used one of these weapons in one of these scenarios ever put down enough fire to necessitate a barrel shroud?

    And just what is zeeeewangozeeeeetango?

well--I figure if you get to the point where you NEED to use the bayonet because you have not succeeded in stopping your enemy with a volley of rounds, then you are in need of training  :p

But seriously--I have yet to see a single news story on anyone using a bayonet to create mayhem in CT. But legislators go into conniptions if you have a weapon with one: oh my GAWD--it has a BAYONET LUG!!! Everyone stand back--the bayonet may start stabbing people in the eye!!

I suppose its no different than people who are afraid of any weapon that is black in color. You know--the black ones are MORE dangerous than any other gun.

And no, to my knowledge we have never had someone go on an "assault weapon rampage" here in CT so that they would be using a barrel shroud either.

But the antis just want to be safe--the fact that a gun has a barrel shroud makes it doubly dangerous you know
