Finally got enough money saved up and ordered last week. Got a call this afternoon from my local gun store saying it was in. Brought it home, cleaned it, put on my new grip, then took some pics. Hoping to get the scope mounted either tomorrow or Thursday and I'm off this weekend so I'll be heading to the range and I'll make sure and post a range report afterward.

No, couldn't find one with the fluted barrel. But with the way people have been buying these things up I'm pretty happy to have one. I've been trying to find a 4 Round mag that I can use for hunting but no one has any mags at all.

    Fred,

    Check out 44Mag.com - 44mag - for .308 4 round mags

The site says they have the LR-308 4 rounders in right now.

Nice looking rig you got there. I want to see pics with the scope mounted.

Has anyone ever thought about an AR in 357, 41 and 44mag? Might be able to get some more oumph and load them a little hot with that set up.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Thanks for all the help with the mags guys. I don't know a lot of the sites that sell them so I just typed it into google and went through like 4 or 5 pages of sites and lots of places had them but not one had them in stock. Glad you guys found some that had them. And for those of you asking about a range report, I'm going to sight it in and break-in the barrel Saturday and will post a range report when I get home. And trust me, I wanna shoot it way more than you guys wanna see the range report.:D

Thanks man, just ordered a couple from 44mag. That way when deer season comes around I don't have to worry about getting in trouble with the Law.

Good job of showing what responsible law abiding citizens do to make sure they operate within the law. :D

Are you going to mount a bi-pod? I would, but that is just me. But, I can't use one of those in Ohio to deer hunt.

Looking foreward to the range report. :D

I'm probably going to get a bi-pod, but not sure whether I'll use it for hunting. The problem with it is most bi-pods mount on the sling stud, so wouldn't that keep me from being able to mount a sling while the bi-pod is attached? And this thing is fairly heavy so I definitely wanna have the sling.

There's a sling with bi-pod attached for hunting. I don't know how sturdy it is and I have never used one. Cabela's sells them. I'm sure other places do too. If I ever find my latest Cabela's catatog, I will give you the item # and price. I think I would have to see it first hand to see how solid the shooting sticks are on that.

Look in the bathroom crusher, that's where I usually find mine. The other place I find it is in the garbage, funny though I never remember putting it there!! :D

FCross - I had a bipod on mine and took it off. It's not as stable a platform when shooting off a bench as a sandbag rest, and it adds too much weight to an already heavy gun. With my 6-24x scope, a loaded 20 rd. mag, and a bipod, mine weighs almost 13 lbs! The bipods connect to the sling stud on the rifle and have their own stud to attach the sling.

If you get a Harris or Rock Mount bipod they have a place where you attach the sling to the bipod.

If my camera hadn't taken a dump I would take some pics of my set up.

That's why I was kind of skeptical about putting a bipod on it. Even without the bipod and unloaded that thing is already pretty heavy.

    Fred,

You might want to check out Versapods then. That way you can take the bipod off the gun, put it on when you need the extra stability.

    versapod bipods

    good luck,
