That's it, r handed OWB for a Ruger SR 1911 CMDR 4.25" somewhere in the $50.00-$75.00 area. Tan or blk. leather, Thumb break: option #3, if I'm correct with the condition code I've seen, is how I carry. I gotta rack one?

Carrying a gun any gun including a 1911 with out one in the chamber, is like carrying a 500 dollar hammer , that dosent hammer very well.

Good point about the hammer. I carry different guns in various ways so whether a round is chambered is a variable depending on my "setup" for self defense that particular time. I know one thing, if the holster ain't comfortable, I won't wear it. I hope I hear from someone who's got the answer for me on what holsters normally work for people. I like my gun to ride sorta high on right side hip. I'm 6' 220 with 38" waist. I want something that has leather between me and the gun. Keep it from rubbing my side. Pancake style be good. Thumb lock and trigger cover.:)

My initial price may of been a bit low too. De Santis looks reasonable.
