So allow me to set it up for you.

I currently am employed as a security guard here in the Dublin, Ohio area. This job is fine and dandy, but I'm looking for more.

In reality I'd like to go threw the academy and do the full course, but at the moment thats just not reasonable for me. Instead Im interested in what they refer to as the '120' course, or Private Security course. It would include the OPOTA firearms cert., but a good number of other classes make up the course (typically the firearms portion is only 20 hours of the entire course).

But I need a few things before I go after it.

    • Whats required (if anything) to take this course?
    • Where can I go to take it in the Columbus area?
    • Will classes taken in the '120' course be used towards a full OPOTA Cert. if I decide to go to the academy after taking this course?

I'd appreciate any help I can get. Come on you Ohio guys I know your out there!
