I went to Memphis once- definitely a fun city. Beale Street was quite the trip being from a small town in New England- hell of a party you guys got down there. Portland Maine is a party town- but it has nothing on Memphis.

If we're going way back, I've always been a fan of Bix Beiderbecke.

Bix Beiderbeck -- his 1924 recordings, Bix Beiderbecke & The Chicago Cornets.

My all time favorite band was Guy Lombardo and the Royal Canadians.

"The Guy" said that when he died, he was taking New Year's Eve with him. And he did.

I, too like folk music. American, Irish and Scottish.

Burl Ives was one of the best of the genre. Tennessee Ernie did a lot of civil war era folks songs. Tex Ritter is well known for his cowboy music, but he did a lot of western folks songs as well.

John Denver was another of my favorites.

In the Celtic stuff. Joni James was great for the traditional Irish love songs.

Then there's Ronan Tynan, John McDermott, Anthony Kearns, Finbar Wright, Isla St. Clair and on and on.

I like a lot of different types of music . All depends on my mood & what I am doing at that time . Any music that makes you feel good or smile is worth listening to . Now days we need all the feel good we can find .
I even like Cajun Zydeco music . Happy people with happy songs ! :)
