I wish we still had music like this. And folks like the Mills Bros to sing it.
Or this one.
Google: The Carolina Chocolate Drops.
I wish country still meant this:
and not this
Huge Fan of the old Motown tunes!
Before it all,went to hell!
Also,a,huge,Steve wonder fan.
A huge diversity of music here, I can go from Assassin, to Bad company, to kreator, to John denver, pestilence, Bathory, wishbone ash, venom, CCR, and much more.
Grew up listening to this kind of stuff. My dad loved the big bands and Benny Goodman's was the best. Gene Krupa's drumming was simply outstanding.
I grew up with Motown and do like the genre, I also like WWII era and before big band music. I never gained an appreciation for most jazz, and I can't tolerate C&W. Usually when I crank up the music box it is 60s and 70s hard rock.
This is the only way to listen to Big Band music:
I can listen to anything from the 60's, '70's. '80's and then to a lesser degree anything after that.
Country and Western does nothing for me and rap is definately a waste of time. I like my Rock and Roll and a bit of heavy metal from back in the '70's................Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Status Quo to name a few.
Having said that I don't mind some of the stuff from the 40's and '50's as well.
Old time music for me is 60s, before I was born.
Anything Johnny Cash is King.
I agree. 50’s, 60’s, 70’s maybe something 80’s. No country western. It drives me crazy. I also really like folk music. John Prine, Woody Guthrie, Steve Goodman, Vassar Clemmons.
Stairway to Heaven is now 50 years old.
That's a half a century my friends,,,
Does that count as "Old Time Music" too?
If I hear Stairway to Heaven or Freebird one more time I may go postal.
You really didn't have to bring that up..... .!.
Love the "oldies" stuff, much of it.
For example ...
The Ink Spots -- a 2013 compilation album, The Ink Spots Retrospective.
Maybe I’m just an old redneck from Maine- but I could listen to any Skynyrd song a million times and it would never get old.
yeah, they are alright, and I like listening to those old bands..........but what gets my soul to tapping is listening to the music of my heritage, Ukrainian/ Cossack folk song. like this one
Гей,Соколи (Hey, Falcon)
Does this count:
We need to bring back the blues!
Anything by B. B. King counts. Being from Memphis I've seen him quite a few times.
