    Old Pump Winchester 06 Question

Can anyone help to get an age for this Rifle 807049? Its in great condition. Maybe someone can suggest another site that can also help. Is there any value to this rifle? Thanks Ron

Welcome to the site. If you plan to stick around, please swing by the Introductions area and say hi.

Good luck with your question. Have you tried contacting Winchester to get info on it?

If you haven't already try doing a search on bing. Type in something like "Winchester serial numbers". And by the way that's a gorgeous rifle!!!!! :)

I got on Winchester's archives and it looks like production ended on 729305.

Sent from my VS840 4G using Firearms Talk mobile app

Even though it is in such excellent condition you don't want to shoot it, you want to send it to me!!
    Kidding,

It is tube fed, load the tube and then pump one into the chamber

If you were in Ohio I would be happy to show you and help out

I don't have any experience with your rifle, but here is a video. I believe this is the same rifle. The gentleman loads it at right around the 2 minute mark.

If that video doesn't help, try searching for other YouTube videos.

you might want to consider taking a hunters safety course. hunters safety is a low cost way to get basic firearms training.

another source of low cost training is project appleseed. the mission of project Appleseed is to teach firearms safety, range etiquette and to train new shooters how to hit a target with open sights at 300 yards.
