Ok, this is a little exessive.

The tacticool style rifles have never been my favorite, but I can see their place and respect those who choose to go that route.

But I just made a stop over at Mossberg.com and saw a whole new level of hideousness and blasphemy.:)

    A tactical lever gun.

Call me old fashioned, but its terrible. I think I may need to lie down.
Plus it looks cheap, does anybody even like this thing?

I got to admit...that made me chuckle a little.

    Different strokes and all that.

Remember...someone also came out with the "tactical" twice barrelled shoot gun a couple of years ago with a fiber optic bead up front, poly stock, and a rail section slung under the barrels.

It was/is intersting..but for less money you can buy a Mossberg or Maverick, which are functional as all hell, though not "sexy".

Buy what you want...I just kind of like that we have so many choices in the things we want to shoot.

BUT...yeah...that tacticool lever gun....that just makes me chuckle.

I was discussing SHTF rifles with a young friend a while back.

I suggested a Colt AR-15 with ACOG or Aimpoint.

He agreed that the Colt was undoubtedly the best answer to his needs, but then informed me that he had decided on a Mini-14 Ranch rifle with 10 pounds of bling on it because it was just so "cool."

He just couldn't understand why I didn't appreciate "cool factor."

I can kind of see the purpose of the coach gun, some people like them for HD and it has the provisions for a light. Not saying I would buy one though.

That Mossberg is for lack of a better word, stupid.

I completely agree, with one caveat. That Marlin took stupid to places it has never known existed and molested it with retarded. Whoever designed that and decided to market it should be beaten with it. That Marlin? That's like putting a fat chick in a string bikini. Just because you CAN do something does NOT mean you SHOULD do it.

Clarification, "that marliln" is actually a Mossberg! I certainly hope Marlin wouldn't do anything like that to their lever rifles!

You are correct, why I said Marlin I don't know.

Must have been thinking about that Marlin 30-30 at Walmart that I want so bad. :p

I was getting the link when you posted ahead of me. There is an O/U version as well. Stoeger has a couple of nice single trigger coach guns with screw in chokes. Makes them very versatile. The double triggers really need an English stock which is also available.

My neighbor showed me his 10/22 a couple of years ago. it was just a run of the mill 10/22...still...argualbly the best semi-auto .22 on the planet. BUUUUUUT...he had added a Bushnell 4X scope to it (nothing wrong with that)....BUUUUUUT....he mounted the scope with the cross hairs in an X rather than the cross as they should be.

He can't get it sighted in properly...but leaves it that way because he thinks it looks...(in his words) "Badass".

Sooooo...."badass" over useful? Hmmmm. So, yeah, I know what you mean. My neighbor wonder why I won't take him shooting.

Why do so many people confuse bad and dumb? I'd rather hit my target.
