Custom model 27... with a model 24 barrel and a model 29-2 cylinder. All lovingly fitted to create a retro look 6” pencil thin barreled .44 that shoots magnums :D

Basically I wanted a big honking modern recreation of a Triple Lock from the early 1900 capable of firing modern ammo.

First group offhand at 15 yards. Commercial UMC 180 gr JSP. The flier was called. My fault, I got excited and dropped the 5th shot.

Probably an ultralight .308 or a 9.3 Mauser. Still up in the air... This one was built by one of the gunsmiths that frequents the G&A board. Good guy and HIGHLY talented. I'm going to have him build my rifle too.

Very nice. Classy job on a classy pistol to get you in that “smile zone” with a gun.

The gun is built on a Magnum N frame and the cylinder came from a Model 29 which is a .44 Magnum. The barrel is for a Target Model 24 but was fitted to the frame and longer cylinder. So basically the gun is marked .44 Special but in reality it is a custom, target, thin barreled .44 Magnum. This is not a factory configuration.
