I finally picked up a 1911. I have been wanting one for quite some time. Well I have had a Kimber 1911 22LR for almost 8 years, but not a true 1911 45ACP

I wasn't sure what one to get, but settled on a Kimber. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, will be this coming weekend.

Here is a couple of quick iPhone pictures.

Placed it over a Brownells 1911 catalog :D

Very nice choice. I think you are going to regret this day however. It's all downhill from here. :D

    I echo JD.

I think you will find that the phrase, "I only have one 1911", is short lived.

Not to worry though, it’s a socially acceptable obsession.

This addiction only works if you actually shoot the 1911. Is it dirty yet??

Took her out today and ran 100 factory FMJ loads and 50 of my handloads (25 at a certain powder charge and another 25 with a couple different grains higher) All shot and the Kimber ate and spitted everyone out like clockwork. No brass hit in the head, no FTF, FTE, held the slide open on the last round.

And it didn't dissolve in my hands from all the MIM parts. Glad I didnt buy a Springfield or Taurus:D

No target available as I just shot it out in a field at cans, bottles, etc and is much more accurate then I am right now
