Store bought ammo as in factory loaded ammo that I have shot.

I have heard not headed. (Stupid phone) and limit not limet.

Question 1. Yes you can reload store bought if its brass of course. Question 2. Pistol cartridges if loaded middle of the road charge wise you can usually get 4 to 5 loadings. Rifle cartridges are a different beast. I've reloaded some 223 3 times and some just twice. Some case necks split after the first load. I guess it just depends on each piece of brass. Quality I should say. I don't care about head stamps on plinking stuff. I'm all about large quantity on that. Match ammo though I stick with quality match brass with matching head stamps. Also rifle cartridges usually need trimmed each loading due to stretching during expansion. If you look at it though it makes sense. The bottleneck takes all of the pressure. Straight wall pistol cartridges tend to not need trimmed till the 5 time loaded and to be honest with pistol ammo I don't even think its much to even talk about. Hope this helps.

if it is brass case or nickel plated and not berdan primed, you can reload it. if the case has cracks, major dents that do not come out in resizing, if the flash hole is eroded, if there is a bulge,or corrosion (not dirt or carbon), pitch it. other than that, if it looks good, keep reloading it. depending on caliber you can reload the same brass many times. i just dump it all in a 5 gallon bucket so i dont keep track of how many times it has beed loaded. as you read the ABC's, it will tell you what to look for in inspecting brass.

I only reload pistol rounds, rife is a different story.

I usually get 10-15 loadings out of a case.

Even max loads usually give me 5-6. If I have to pitch a case after 2-3, I lower the powder charge, or switch to a different powder.

Magnum primers can cause higher pressure as well and should be used with great caution.

I guess it all depends on what you load it with and how much. Makes sense.
