A brief explanation - What is National Ammo Day?

November 19 is National Ammo Day.

It is a nationwide BUYcott of ammunition. You buy ammunition. 100 Rounds a person.

    The goals of Ammo Day:

The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars!

There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America. If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

The gun/ammunition manufacturers have been taking the brunt of all the frivolous lawsuits, trying to put these folks out of business. Well, not if we can help it! And we CAN help it by buying ammunition on November 19!

    Yay! That's my birthday!

Also, 9mm ammo seems tough to find. I haven't really been looking for anything else. Are there any other ammo types that are in short supply?

Yeah, this isn't the first year for this. I just think an ammo buycott is a great idea.

You may buy yourself 100 rds. Then buy me 100rds. :D

I'll see if I can get around to getting some cash saved. Got a large collection of coins that has been itching to be changed to bills :D

dang it. the november gun show in my town is on the 20-22 of that month. that's where i usually get my ammo because there are better deals on .357 mag and .30-06.

oh well, in the interest of solidarity, on that day i'll go and buy 100 rounds of .22lr, or maybe a 100 rounds of 12 gauge shells....

I wasn’t planning to buy any ammo in November, but in honor of the buycott I will buy a few new boxes of 223 on November 19, which I reload.

CheaperThanDirt has 9mm. 1,000 rounds for $173.80. With shipping and handling, $200.62. I just got some for my Beretta PX4 Storm.

Every day is "Ammo Buycott'" day at Chez Rock, so I'll just ramp it up on the 19th.

    This is a Great idea.

I added it to my calender, I can always use a 100 rounds of something. It will be intresting to know if there is a big jump in ammo sales on that day.

I have seen a hit and miss with 9mm and .45 ammo; this weekend Sportsman's warehouse had a big shipment; however, only 4 boxes of .45 for self defense - no 9mm or .45 range ammo.

I can no longer buy it cheap, but I'll continue to stack it as deep as I can.

unless i can find .380 I'm gonna have to go with .22 100 rounds of buckshot is a little pricey but I will DEFINITELY be buycotting with everybody.
