I have tried the search feature and didn't find what I was looking for... yes I may not have typed the correct "words", so I'm looking for input.

I am trying to "value" my Norinco 1911 for insurance purposes, the "Gun Traders Guide" doesn't seem to list hardly any Norinco's. Am I doing something wrong or looking under the wrong "name"?

Would appreciate any suggestions. The serial # is 423XXX.

    Thanks in Advance!

Mountainman, thanks for the quick reply... I am attaching pics of my "gun guide" it doesn't show what yours does... maybe I bought a crappy guide....

    Thanks for the info!

No. It's a decent guide I have it too. You will probably never find a guide that has everything.
The blue book is good and the hunters bible.
    This one isn't bad either.
Also sometimes things are listed strangely in the gun traders. It can be difficult to use.

I noticed that it doesn't show the Sig "Pro" series either... like the Pro 2009.

Would you care to help a brother out with this one also?

This may sound silly but go to barns & noble if you have one neer by. Thats were i go, they have about 8 different price guides and several books on guns, so i just go in and read up. I'ts free to look they have never said anything to me, just dont unwrap a book if its covered in plastic. Not sure but they may fron on thet pratice.

How are these norinco 1911 are the reliable and good quality 1911s and will they make a good carry 1911 ?

I love my Norinco... I have only put about 300-400 rounds through it, but I have had no issues with it. I have heard some negative stuff about them and some positive stuff, I think it has to do with when and where they were built.

As far as carry, I can get away with it because I am a pretty good size fella... however they are bulky and heavy... so not sure about how you would like it for carry.

    YMMV
