I live in a country that allows you to only shoot a home intruder who is armed with a gun. I guess one has to carry both a lethal and non-lethal weapon during a home invasion. Crazy, but it is the law. I have chosen these non-lethal options....

    1. Pepper spray that also creates a fog for lasting affect. (chemical warfare)
    2. Rubber buck shot (ouch time!)
    3. Good old American thrashing.

I had to use number 1 and 3 only once.
For lethal options, well that is another thread..
What non-lethal options do you have (if any) for your home/personal defense?

The shooty outty tasers are usually pretty effective.
A good ole fashion baseball bag if you are okay being that close.
A very large dog (not always non lethal :p)

Edit: Please don't attack the BG with a baseball bag unless it's full of BATS.
I promise i meant bats!

Buy a cheap gun on the black market and plant it on the intruder. (I saw it on tv once).

My idea of a lethal weapon is offering him some of my cooking! :D

I wanna see a pic of the good old American thrashing! :D

I read about a home security system that uses pepper spray...fills the room with it...

Allegedly safe for all pets except birds...

I think an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure though...

I've reinforced my door frames with steel inserts and long wood screws...

I don't have any type of fancy alarm system outside of a noisy dog. Any and all entrance points, while not totally unaccessable, will make a ton of noise when being breached, no way around that even for me...(locking myself out on occasion proves that...)

If someone wants to get in bad enough, they will, but the least I can do is make it a noisy PITA for them...

Good luck dialing the police with that fog in the house ;)

Some of the guys in my highschool several years back used pepper-spray in the hallways. In enclosed environments, pepper-spray is like the energizer bunnie.......

Call the police? Why wake them up? JK
Ya, the secondary fog is a killer, but it gave me the upperhand against the burglars. They got the full affect. The fight was at the entrance of my wife's spa. I came up to the store right when they were breaking in. I have no problems fighting dirty. There are no rules when fighting for your life.

I've always fancied a net gun.

Do you consider a pipe with some added BB's to be "lethal"? What if you wrap it in duct tape?

I lived in some sketchy areas and never had a problem until I had to make Speck stay in his TV, damn roommate's wussy dog and its anxiety issues.
(Speck was a Burmese python, about 8.5' when I sold him)
