    Well, they're not my chickens...
It's a family farm, just went out there to visit my aunt and uncle who run it, ended up giving them some free labor.

Ever seen a chicken blow out? Not pretty. Not pretty at all.

Hopefully I will have a range report by lunch time ish tomorrow. It's supposed to be sunny and nice. My step dad also has a new bond arms derringer, with three barrel sets in .40, .22 and 410/.45 Colt. I'll try to get some trigger time on it too.

When I was in high school a bunch of us would help a local guy change out his chickens every couple of years. He had I don't know how many thousand birds, it was a lot of work. We would start after dark when the birds would be quieter and work until 4 in the morning loading them into cages in a truck. The web of our hands would be very sore even with gloves after all that work. We would carry at least three at a time in each hand held by their legs upside down. Good money for a nights work, too.

These chickens are for eggs, and last less than a year before being harvested.

And yeah, downsouth, I'll be enjoying mom's cooking all weekend. I stepped on the scale just a couple hours ago and it said 250. I'm so screwed.

My forecast has been pushed back a bit, the sun is supposed to pop out around noon or 1 o'clock.

The rain has stopped. The clouds are thinning. The sun should peek out any minute now...

Getting ready to slaughter some targets and cans...
