Well! I did visit Corrales; however, with this going on and other rulings - I will not go into Corrales (Liberalville) again.

I know a few will be moving, if this is put into play.

New Mexico: Village Of Corrales To Consider Restrictions On Lawful Carrying Of Firearms

    http://www.nraila.org/legislation/s...trictions-on-lawful-carrying-of-firearms.aspx

Tomorrow, August 14, the Corrales Village Council will consider and possibly vote on Resolution No. 12-032, which would impose a far-reaching ban on the lawful carrying of firearms in or near many village facilities - including outdoor parks, recreational centers and the community library.

Not only could this resolution's restrictions regarding the carrying of firearms on one's person violate Article II Section 6 of the New Mexico Constitution (which states that “[n]o law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense” and "[n]o (n)o municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms"), but it would also conflict with a provision of state law that recognizes the right to possess loaded firearms in personal vehicles. Under this proposed resolution, you could be prohibited from having a loaded gun in your car or truck while in the parking lot of any of the village facilities listed!

    Update

The local council kill the measure 4-2. Dozens showed to voice their dislike with that measure.

Glad that the council realized the folly of their ways in attempting to impose an unconstitutional restriction on the citizens but it sound like several members need to be retired for their lack of judgement.

Now all is needed is to have the bill's sponsor and the 2 councilmembers who voted for it replaced at the next election ;)

Why do they bother to go through introducing and passing any resolution knowing full well it does not preclude violence from criminals but
aids the criminals against the very people who are law-abiding and peaceful? It's like kicking the dog when you come home. Bunch of morons!

Its bevause gun control isnt about crime its about preventing the citizens from resisting and injury criminals. Cant have that.

The mantra of police chiefs and business owners across the country is co-operate with crime...

Unless of course they are going 120 MPH trying to catch a car thief or breaking down the wrong door in a no-knock, then a little collateral damage is expected and necessary.

    You reap what you sow.

Those who motivate for gun control, are ONLY asserting it unto themselves. When the government raids their homes with those same unaffected guns they've wanted banned, sadly, they'll see how the police and military really save them from harm then.

EDIT BY MOD- Deletion of Spammer- Zoey- don't quote them. Bot that we have to sweep out. Just report them

We get two main batches of spammers- ones out of China advertising call girl services, and ones out of India selling pirated movies.

BOTH have had imbedded viruses in their download links. Responding to them lets them know they connected to a live website.

Please just report it by clicking on the report button- we can pull their postings, ban them, and kick them to the curb.

Interesting. About two years ago Florida put into the laws a bill that heavily fines any municipality that passes gun restrictions that go against the state laws. All kinds of local municipalities had to strike those provisions from their local codes or face state fine and sanction.

And these bozos were going to go against the New Mexico state codes. How did they think that was going to end up?

In NH cities and towns are barred from restricting firearms by state law.
