So anyways, I go to my FFL guy to pick up my Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad, and after he gets off the phone with the feds, he said they have it on "delay" until Saturday..... What gives?!?! I'm not a convicted felon, I've NEVER been turned down for a firearm purchase, heck, I'm even a CCW holder. I dont get it!! It makes me mad because I KNOW I have not done anything wrong but the powers that be can just sidestep the constitution!

Your dealer will not know what gives. He gets one of 3 responses- proceed, delay, denied.

Why, you ask? Odds are, somewhere out there, there is a warrant, restraining order, mental commitment paper for a capnclump- or capnclamp. Give them a couple of days, they will get it sorted out. Several years back, the Chief of Police of Denver CO got delayed.

Think you got problems? I know a guy named Charles Manson. Really.

Whats even funnier is I went to a different LGS just a few hours after that & picked up this beauty! Go figure. ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1389145824.519679.jpg ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1389145840.513479.jpg ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1389145853.763503.jpg

Most likely they were flooded and were trying to keep things rolling and took the info into a check later pile until the demand went down.

Yep. Catch them at just the wrong time and they go to auto delay. Or if you didn't use your social security number at the first place and then did at the second, it could be as C3 said, just another person with a similar name who had a scrape with the law.

Well the feds called my gun guy very promptly as soon as he opened up shop this morning with the instructions: "Proceed". She's finally home where she belongs. Welcome home Sweetheart!!
