Should the NFL keep the current set of Refs or give in to the striking Refs demands because of all the problems?

I think the current Refs are hurting the reputation of the league and the NFL owners should do whatever it takes to get the real Refs back. I turned off the game early last night because of the disorganization.

Longer time to make calls, less accurate calls and less control of the game are the issues.

I don't watch, nor do I care about, football.

But the radio station I listen to has three guys that are PASSIONATE about sports and football specifically and the case they made was pretty compelling that the NFL is shooting themselves in both feet and the package by not trying harder to get the "real" refs back on the field.

One game took over 4 hours last weekend, I believe it was the Baltimore game.

    That's not entertainment, that's torture....

The NFL and the Real Refs need to come to an agreement and let the pros on the field be watched by the pros with the whistles.

    YMMV.

I mean, who didnt see this one coming? I mean REEEAALLY??

The regular guys had a hard enough time getting it right most of the time, so lets bring in less than adequate people to do the job.

    BRILLIANT!!

The ONLY thing good about last nights game was seeing That punk Peyton is back to his old self, back in the form we have come to expect...3 picks in the first 3 possessions!

I rarely watch sports anymore because of crap like this. It always revolves around money and everyone is always too greedy to give some of it up.

I say fire the refs, and replace them with Burning Man chicks and hula hoops.

While entertaining i am not sure it would draw as large a crowd to watch the games.

As long as the NFL keeps them working Sundays and they can't work Saturdays, its ok with me. Football on Saturday, range time on Sunday.

Roger Goodell needs to get off his ass and settle this before week three.

It's a joke and nobody can say they didn't see this coming...

The best replacements are working college games...

We're stuck with HS shop teachers and environmental engineers...

Not their faults at all, (the replacements), I think they're doing the best they know how...I can only imagine how nervous they must be and all the pressure that is on them, poor bastids...

It won't be very long before some mistake causes a huge problem...

It is like having a sub in high school. In the begining you were OK then you pushed it then pushed it some more just to see how far you could get.

I don't care for pro sports give me a good HS football game any day of the week and I am happy.

As for the new refs cut them some slack they are doing the best they can. Many of them have never had the pressure of 22 thug gang bangers harassing them. Then you add to that all the cameras and the thousands of fans. I don't care other than it effects some of my tv shows.
