Wanna start saving for my next gun of the year. Bought a Howa 25-06 the first week of the year and am itching for a new one. Looking at either a Winchester SXP shotgun, a Winchester Model 70 in a .338 win mag, or a 300 AAC Blackout upper for my AR. All will be bought this year if funds provide, just needing help on which to get first. All will be used to hunt with and the .338 will also be used for some target shooting

For target shooting I would look at something in the 6mm category, like your 25-06.

As for the .338 caliber, you may find it more gun than desired if not accustomed to shooting such a thumper. I personally can't find a need for more than the .300 Win Mag for the lower 48 but that's just me. If you really want to have fun get a 338-06 or a .35 Whelen. The only problem will be that handloading is required for the 338-06 and desired for the 35 Whelen. Both are respectable hunting calibers that pack a wallop but have less recoil than the .338 Win Mag in my expirience. If you just want a heavy recoiling rifle then get something bigger, like a 458 Lott.
