Gabby Giffords was ask to stay out of Newton, CT by a state legislator. Connecticut State Rep. DebraLee Hovey said that Giffords is just using the tragedy in Newton for her own political agenda. Hovey said there has been enough media attention in Newton. The people of the town need privacy to grieve and resume business as normal.

At this time all the local resources in Newton are being consumed by the media and well wishers. All the town workers are overwhelmed by people sending toys and calling/emailing to see if they can help. The most helpful thing anyone can do is pray for the people of Newton and give them the respect they deserve.

I agree. She is one of the few who could really, really understand what they are going through in Newtown. If I were mayor of that town, I would not have refused her visit but I understand his desire for his town to 'return to normal' as best they can.

Good luck with that! The Democrats have a petition at petitions.whitehouse.gov stating they will vote republican if gun laws are passed. The pro-gun Democrats don't want to be forced to vote single issue but if far left is going to pass crazy laws they are going to vote Republican.
