Purchased an old percussion musket at an Atlanta auction.

It's a little over 5 1/2 ft. long. Has relatively short stock. Extremely heavy, long octagon barrel. Gun is massive ....weighs approximately 25 lbs. .... yes, 25 lbs. ! Sides are somewhat pitted .... can't read anything too well. Can barely see some engraving swirls. Seems to have 2 arrows parallel to each other pointing in different directions going through what seems to be roman numerals " II ". Does anyone know who, what or where I can find out about this gun ? Thanks .... Jim - Outside Atlanta.

I moved your thread to the Black Powder and Musket forum. You'll likely get some answers there. We have some extremely knowledgeable people here. However, I can tell you that you really need to post some pictures with any markings clearly shown as well as a good photo or two of the entire piece.

Welcome to the FTF community. Please introduce yourself to the folks in the Introduction forum. ;)
