Ok, so I see that SC only honors resident permits of FL, so I can't carry there, but I also hear that a gun can be in my car within reach so long as it is concealed. Can I do that as a non resident? Maybe take it off my belt and stash it in the glove box before entering from NC? Or do I have to head to a rest stop and lock my stuff up as per the federal transit regs?

Place the firearm either in the glove box, center console ( closed ), or the trunk.
Not on the seat, under the seat, etc.

Florida non-resident permits come with a lot of

different restrictions, from state to state.

In any case, it helps to know the laws for carry as they pertain to

your particular permit, but, IMO, special care should be given to

    Florida non-resident permits.

    Google handgunlawUS for more info.

NYR-Look up 'Safe Passage' laws...IIRC, as long as you are not staying longer than a gas n go, there's really not a lot you need to do BUT...

1-Don't take MY word for it...

    2-DON'T GET PULLED OVER!!!

3-When in doubt, contact a lawyer who knows those laws, even if it costs you a couple of bucks for a consult... best to be 100% sure...
