Would you people let some ammo stay on the shelf so I can get some? Haven't even put 40 rounds through my new mini because I can't find any ammo around Oswego or Jefferson county. But seriously share :)

If you have anything that shoots .223/5.56 and you're in New York, your priority should be leaving the state right now...

Nice to know I'm not alone in my planned exodus. 2 more years, and the daughter is done with high school. She is already checking into schools in Ohio and PA.

I plan on stocking up on reloading supplies the second I get the chance. It sucks not having ammo.

The shortage of .223 and 5.56 has not affected me yet. First off, I handload for almost every caliber I have, (just waiting on my 7.62X54R setup, and nobody can reload rimfire rounds) and I also bought 1 or 2 boxes (various calibers) a week for the last 12 years, along with brass, primers, powder, wads, shot, and bullets once a month for the last 5 years.

Regarless of this, it does chap my azz that every LGS and Wal-Mart in my area has pretty much empty shelves. The only thing worse than the ammo shortage is how many people are overcharging by 2 to 3 times retail price for cheap and high end rifles now. Armslist is loaded with $3 to $4k ARs and $1,000 SKSes. People actually think that Congress and the POTUS can actually agree on another AWB, and these azzhats are taking advantage of it. That just sickens me.

    Sorry aboput the rant.

Im a lifetime Upstate New York Resident, I have a small business, great job and awesome home and property. They are fn killing us up here from just below the NY Mason Dixon just above Albany!

I wouldnt give up on NY just yet, working in a Rural Liberal Arts University, I get the ultimate exposure to Liberals/ Dems / others and their is a definite uneasiness even among the Libs about the crap that Mini Mario said in the state of the state address a week ago. The Dems tried this garbage in 1994 and they lost their lead for years. That will happen again. Americans start acting like a Nation and less like Bi-Parts when we sense the loss of anything so precious as our BOR's even if its FOOG.

You may have to get the inside scoop on the delivery schedule for a nearby store and wait it out. I saw 980 rds in a metal ammo can for sale $980 at LGS, 55 fmj and possibly reloads. Another LGS had PMC 55 fmj for $14.75/20 rds, it would better to reload and start stalking up on supplies.
