Hi all. First timer here. Until Tuesday night I had never shot a gun before. Due to some circumstances I felt it neccessary to borrow a gun. I was taken to a shooting range and tried 3 different guns, a 9mm, a Stoeger Cougar .40 and a .45 (not sure of the manufacturer). I was offered to purchase the .45 for $400, supposedly $100 off the new price, and this was only the second time it was fired. It has a life time warranty and 2 clips. It would however be a "back room" deal, so no paperwork would be involved. I have some gun ads delievered to my house sometimes. In looking at one of the ads, there is a Hi-Point S+W (assuming Smith + Wesson) .40 for $140. Does anyone have experience with Hi-Point? Why would I pay $400 when I can get an adequate gun for $140? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!
