hey all, just took my new sr40 to the range and I am honestly in love with this gun. it's not often you find a .40 cal that shoots as smooth as a 9mm. tuning in the sights is frustrating though, as I only shoot iron sights and no mount, just hands. any tips on zeroing it in?

Take your time and fire 5 shots using the same aim point. A 1" or 2" orange target dot helps. Aim small hit small. Find the center of your group and adjust it to group on the aim point. Your rear sight is adjustable for height and the front sight has to drifted. Use a brass or nylon punch to drift if you do not have a sight pusher.

Mine shoots as well as I do right out of the box. Ok. Better than I do. By a long shot... :D
Great pistols, the SR line. JTJ gave the best advice possible. I would hope that you don't have to fiddle much with windage, and hopefully a slight adjustment for elevation is all you'll need.

    Shoot safe!

thanks the windage seems a bit off center. now that I look at it. but I may just memorize the compensation to avoid messin with it

Lol! That's probably what I would do, too. Can you have the people who sold it to you help you out? I know it's easier to deal with it, but you don't want to start working on bad habits for when you purchase more pistols. And you will... Lol

I have an sr40 and really like it. It is my only 40 and I think its a great deal for the price. I shoot it well, I just need to shoot it more often.
