IMHO, movie remakes are an abomination, music too but it erks me to no end when someone wrecks an original song...

Tough crowd here.

He is paying homage and It is a bit if a spoof. It isn't a remake.

Either way the original movie and the tv show are legendary that had phenomenal success and a now a cult following of sorts.
