Finally picked up my new Beretta M9 25h Anniversary Edition today! Only 2,010 made (individually serialized). Nice walnut grips and M9 markings (not 92FS).

As you all know, this is our official military sidearm, so getting a commemorative edition was somewhat special.

Hope you enjoy this gun p0rn as much as I do.

On the list left for 2012:
    1. Ruger LCR in .357 magnum
    2. Glock 19 Gen 4
    3. Sig P229 stainless elite in .40 caliber
    4. Shotgun

That's real purdy. Every time I see a pic of one I want to go out and get one.
I shot expert 3 times in a row with it, even though I can barely hang on to the fat bass turd.

I was really surprised the military carry a 9mm for a sidearm , thought would atleast be a .40

I don't think the .40 was as common a round as it is now when the military moved from the .45. Another thing you have to look at is the role of the pistol in combat. You aren't pinging guys at 25 yards with your M9. You give them to guys who have jobs or leadership positions that don't allow for a rifle, such as vehicle mounted radio operators or staff NCOs and officers.

All that being said, that's an awesome gun and I'm going to pick one up in March if there's one left! What mags does it take? The 92fs or the new px4?

Aside from a few cosmetic changes (trigger guard angle, model # stamps, etc.), the military issue M9 is pretty much identical to the 92FS. The standard 92-series magazines fit the pistol (10, 15, 17, 20, 30-round capacities).
