I ordered some New Hearing Protection today. For years now I have used the 3-M Peltor Soundtrap/Tactical Electronic Hearing protection. The reason is to protect my hearing, but also they allow the shooter to hear anyone giving instructions or someone talking to you. I wear them with the curvature on the Muffs to be used facing down toward the stock of the weapon and the wire up behind my head. Not down on my neck! This way I can always get a good cheek weld without interference from the muffs! Also when shooting a lot the little button on the top of my ball cap use to not dig into the center of the top of my head as when I used the over the head band muffs.
But thinking about them, I wanted to share another great advantage about using them. That is as most of you know when using normal hearing protection Muffs and shooting long guns. The Muffs that go over your ears are very fat and thick. This makes it very difficult at best if possible at all, to get down on the Stock with a proper cheek weld. And prevents the Muffs from properly sealing to block out the sound of the weapon.
Just thought I would share my thoughts and maybe solve an issue for some!
Thanks for the heads up! Mine has always worked fine in the past. With all my years instructing and on the Range at the Metro and at the academy.
The last set I purchased was 16 years ago. We also know that including gun manufactures from time to time have cut quality and taken short cuts regarding products to increase their profit margin. Results being a poor product. But if they have changed them and the new ones do not work properly Amazon will get them back! What exactly was the problem with yours? And were they the Model I ordered?
