    It's finally here!
I have been wanting for a LaRue Tactical AR for very long time. And if any of you are familiar with LaRue then you know that their rifles are back ordered about 2 years right now. Back in November 2012 I found a gun store that had an OBR with a 12 inch barrel in 5.56 already on order. So I told the gun store that I wanted to fulfill that order. The gun did not arrive at the gun store until July 2013. At that point I had to send in my paperwork because the gun is a SBR. The paperwork finally came back from the ATF last week and I went to pick up the gun yesterday. I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was while going to pick up this gun as it has been almost two years that I had been waiting on it! Well my excitement was only heightened whenever I arrived at the gun store...
It must have been a stroke of luck because the store had just gotten in two more LaRue Tactical rifles. 1) LaRue Tactical PredatOBR 16 in barrel in 7.62, 2) LaRue Tactical Costa Edition in 5.56 and it is #335 out of 500. The store owner cut me a big deal because I was already buying the LaRue SBR. So now I am the proud owner of 3 new LaRue Tactical rifles! Plus she said that I am now their biggest LaRue customer that they have ever had.
I want to give a special thanks to A Texas Girl's Guns in Liberty Hill, TX and the owner Judith Baker!
Here are the pics of the guns...

First is the Swag that LaRue gives with all it's guns. This one came with the Costa Edition and I haven't gotten the other two yet.

Here are all the boxes and cases laid out together.

Now this is the Costa Edition pics.

And I think my post is too big so I'll do another one that has the 7.62.

So I have a question about what ammo to use. I am fixing to start shooting the SBR pictured above and I want to know if using a cheaper ammo could harm the gun? I have quite a bit of the Federal American Eagle 223 FMJ rounds, but I didn't want to use them if it could somehow harm my new gun. If I shouldn't use them then what would be a suggestion for plinking ammo?

Most folks can't afford 1 LaRue, and you make them feel even more broke by getting 3. Well done Sir.

My first day shooting the LaRue 12" OBR 5.56...

I wasn't always shooting at bullseyes, that is why the groupings are a little sporadic.

4/7 groups were sub MOA and there was 10 mph gusts of wind the whole time too.

I was using Federal American Eagle 50 gr Varmint Tipped. I'm pretty happy with how they shot! With a little more practice I think I can get even better groupings.

Yeah, I'd have probably bought a used truck.

The Federal should be fine. I wouldn't feed it Wolf or other steel cased stuff, because...well... damn it... with that rifle budget, you just shouldn't.

Yea I never shoot any steel ammo. From what I understand, it expands different from brass and it can also scratch things up more.

    The steel
Cases are softer than barrel steel, so it won't scratch anything. It just seems wrong. It would be like running cheap low octane gasoline/ethanol blend in a Porsche.

Thinking about getting a good scope for this gun. The one I have had my eye on is a NightForce 2.5-10x42 NXS Compact model C483. Does anyone have any insight on this scope?

It is attached by a LaRue Tactical LT104 quick detach mount. Here are my groupings with 60 gr Hornady VMax made by Ammo Biz in Texas. Not bad for a windy day. Best .55" and average of .87" on 3-shot groups.
