I have graduation coming up soon, and I want to get a really really REALLY good rifle. It needs to be extremely reliable, semi-auto, ergonomic, have a nice profile. Must fire .223/5.55X45mm NATO.

    What I had in mind:

    FN SCAR 16s
    FN Fs2000
    Bushmaster ACR
    H&K SL8
    Steyr AUG
Customize an AR-15 I already have
Something else of the like, that you recommend.

Which one would you pick, and why?
Would you avoid any of these, and why?

    I appreciate the help.

how about building an AR15 from the ground up.. adding the "match" parts you want... it solves the well i like this but not this problem.
buy a stripped lower to start, and add parts from there like, triggers, stock, upper assembly.

doing this would probly end up being the second cheapest... overhaulingyour current would be the cheapest..

These are some of the best on the market.

I have extremely good ARs. I don't like the gas system. That's one of the reasons I said re-build these. It was also suggested I build ground-up. I want to put a lot of magpul stuff on it of I do that.

I have had great luck with Browning's that were manufactured by FN. A 30/06 is a little harder on the rifle than a 5.56. Whatever FN you like the most is what I would look at. FN has been making great guns that can pass any military trial longer than anyone here has been breathing. You have companies like Wilson Combat that make great guns but all it would take is a turn in the economy or a law to change and they would be shut down. FN isn't going anywhere. You will always be able to find parts and accessories for a FN.

That's a really BA answer. I'm looking hard at the FB Fs2000, ACR, and SCAR 16s. Would anyone recommend the ACR over the SCAR or the SCAR over the ACR? Why?

I'm liking the ACR and SCAR because they are interchangible in caliber and the Fs2000 because it is lightweight, small and bullpup.

That sounds about right, supply and demand at its finest. I got to fondle one when the hk rep was in the area. Once he told me the price tag I quickly handed it back to him

It's not much better than a piston AR in any case, and its almost 7x more!
